If we have learned anything from the pandemic, it is the importance of being flexible, to be able to adapt at a moment’s notice. We have also learnt the importance of listening carefully to our clients and employees alike.

These last 2 years may have been difficult for a lot of companies but there is light at the end of the tunnel and more businesses are coming out of this stronger than ever.

Last month, we had our most successful December to date. In fact, we saw a 180% growth year on year. Our secret? Listening and adapting.

Changing Tides

When lockdown occurred back in March 2020, businesses had to shift their ways of working dramatically with next to no notice. For us, we already offered blended learning which had online and virtual elements, however the physical in-person training was no longer possible.

It wasn’t an easy adjustment, but our ability to be flexible helped us to adapt our methods and ways of working to remain effective and productive for our clients during this period.

However, there have still been other difficult hurdles to overcome during this time.

The Great Resignation

This has been a hot topic in the media during the past 12 months, and you may have experienced it in your company. In the last year, the UK has seen many employees leave their current role for a vacancy elsewhere.

Why? Perhaps they weren’t happy in their current role, weren’t appreciated enough, they didn’t like working long hours or they simply wanted a change. Many organisations have reimagined how the workplace functions, with many adopting the hybrid or fully remote route which can be attractive to candidates previously tied to an office and perhaps out of geographical reach, remote working has meant that employees job prospects are no longer constrained by borders, timezones can be overcome, the talent pool has grown for many.

Naturally, this has had a huge impact on companies nationwide. A study carried out by Randstad, stated that out of the 6,000 workers surveyed, 69% of employees were planning to move to a new role within the next few months. This potentially means a lot of new starters and a lot more training sessions to arrange.

Whether you have experienced this or not, it is a concerning fact, and not one to be taken lightly. So, how can we help retain employees within a business? The answer is employee satisfaction and job progression. If a member of your staff isn’t happy or satisfied in their role, and can’t see their next move within the organisation, they are more likely to look elsewhere, which brings us back to our initial point of how listening can lead to success.

Open Your Ears

A lot of our success in December, can be attributed to our ability to listen. Since the pandemic began, we made sure we were as flexible as possible, and that we truly listened to what our clients were saying, as well as what they weren’t saying. The result of this being our Hybrid Working report which you can download here.

This applies to your employees as well, make sure you are in regular contact with them, especially whilst working remotely. Are they happy? What are their career aspirations and goals for this year? Do they have any skill gaps which need filling?

We noticed during the pandemic that employees were more interested in engaging with training and development sessions than previously. We worked with our clients to deliver high quality virtual training to ensure their employees felt that not only were they being heard, but were still able to work towards their goals, and grow within their role.

The Green Shoots Of Recovery Have Blossomed

A large majority of our existing and new clients, many of whom we have been investing since before the pandemic are reaping the benefits of learning and development opportunities for their employees which is helping drive growth in 2022.

All these achievements combined have meant we are now exceeding the growth levels we were getting pre-pandemic which highlights more companies’ growing confidence in our skills and abilities, and we are grateful to each and every one of you.

Without your drive to helping humans grow in your organisation and help them develop themselves, we wouldn’t be able to offer a wider array of training options to all our clients. In fact, due to the increased demand we have even hired another Development Partner and Client Success team member to enable us to support you and your employees further.
