Culture Change

Culture echoes the leadership style of the management

Culture Change

Key to this area is understanding the three core elements of change;

  • Development
  • Transactional
  • Transformational change

In order to develop a cultural alignment, an organisation must be aware of the different styles, and approaches required establishing the right type of behaviours, and thus a consistent climate which offers a security and confidence for individuals and teams to deliver at the highest level.

Changing a culture is one of the most challenging tasks an organisation will ever take on. Many organisations are forced into changing culture; losses of revenues, sales, customers or talent are all typical reasons!!

OnTrack have extensive experience of helping organisations achieve successful culture change. We have been involved with a number of well known multinational organisations that have needed to adapt their culture. We have developed skills and expertise to work with organisations to help them develop a culture which will optimise their success.

This product area is led by Warren Wright. Warren brings a deep level of expertise from his work and consulting career. He has worked with many leading organisations helping them change their culture and perfecting the tools and approach. This has helped him to identify the competences for managing successful culture change and also an approach for defining and driving the new values and behaviour. Our VBA approach in particular has helped organisations to achieve the behaviour changes they require, swiftly and permanently.

Our approach helps:

  • Identify the culture that will best achieve their strategic vision
  • Develop the underpinning values that will drive the new culture
  • Ensure everyone knows what their part is in the new order

  • Culture Assessment – a framework for identifying the key components of the existing culture and the new components which will achieve the cultural aspirations
  • VBA – Values & Behaviour Alignment - defining and developing the behaviour aligned to the new values and culture drivers
  • Communication Analysis – developing a communication strategy to ensure everyone knows what the organisation wants to achieve and why and that they are connected to the vision

Insurance

As part of a pan European strategic initiative this organisation needed the development of one strong recognised brand across their European business units. To support these behaviours and their consistent application a series of leadership workshops were designed and implemented to support their cultural shift from a country specific brand to a pan European one. This is an ongoing initiative which is already realising a marked difference in the cultural climate within this organisation.

Banking

Following the merger of two large banking organisations this organisation realised the importance of a swift and meaningful cultural integration. This integration was focussed not only upon the nationalised differences of the organisations concerned but also the organisational cultural differences. As a result of this programme, it also led to a refining within this organisation of both processes and systems and the birth of new values and guiding principles for this new organisation.

Aerospace

For this truly global organisation, we supported their project teams in developing a new perspective and climate within their business which was driven from the integration, merger and acquisition of many smaller technology based organisations. The primary objective of this intervention was to develop alignment to the new company and support the changes required within each organisation and the value of aligning to a new culture which had been developed out of the sum of all the individual parts.
